I have just spent a bit of time debating with my stepson. I have an idea to create a simple website to save the planet. I am not actually a believer in the religion of global warming, but I do agree that we are wrecking the environment. When I say that, I mean, in this town, we have new developments going up everywhere, while old buildings are left empty. In my opinion, that is a bigger problem than the fact that my car gets 38 miles per gallon while my wife has an SUV that gets 34. I'm not going to claim to be a scientist, I am comfortable in the fact that most of the worlds scientists disagree with Al Gore, who refuses to debate with them He has the backing of the politicians, and the journalists, and that often trumps truth, when the they have the chance to meet. What I would like to do is copy Al Gore's business model, which is TeraPass. Using TeraPass, people can purchase 'Carbon Offsets', which allow them to pollute the same, because someone else is using the money they contribute to 'offset' the pollution they put out by existing. The entirety of humanity puts out FOUR PERCENT of the Earths carbon, but that little fact is often ignored. I would like to do the same thing. Rather than just talking the money and using it in some obscure manner, like flying my private jet to China to tell them how they are going to be the next biggest polluter in two years, I would take the money and purchase land in urban areas. I would knock down the buildings on that land, and put up trees. While it may be a scientific hoax, because trees that live in temperate or colder zones put off as much carbon when they die as they filter during their life, it would be a social change. I grew up near a demolition zone, known as 'the field'. There was nothing useful or alive there, the ground was covered in concrete, Rebar, and glass As a child, I actually imagined that area covered in grass, with trees, and other things that I could hurt myself on. That area would have been much better as a 'green zone' than it was as a demolition area. If the land belongs to me or my company, that's just icing on the cake. AMBSpace is a logical kid, so he spent the whole night telling me how and why it wouldn't work. His major concerns seemed to have a lot to do with how much the general public would accept the idea. I am not extremely concerned with that, because my idea is a program, which needs only to be developed, deployed, advertised, and maintained. It's not a store, with an actual inventory. I also didn't bother to boost the marketing that is already in place. A Federal Judge just cited Al Gore's movie 'An Inconvenient Truth' in a ruling, as 'fact', despite the fact that Al Gore is an Ex Vice President, and he has refused to debate any of the thousands of current scientists that dispute his claims. That means that whether or not this Global warming idea is fact or fiction is minute. The idea has already been established. To me, that means that the marketing is in place, and the competition is on its way.
